พระพิฆเนศ (Ganesha)

Ganesha

Ganesha is considered the most popular "Lord of Success" internationally, not only in Thailand but worldwide. He symbolizes wisdom, the remover of obstacles, and new beginnings.

Main Beliefs and Blessings:

Remover of Obstacles: People often worship Ganesha before starting any business or undertaking to ask for a smooth and obstacle-free path.

God of Success: He grants success to those who work diligently or engage in business.

God of Wisdom and Arts: Respected by students, writers, artists, and creative professionals because of his vast knowledge and status as a great teacher.

God of Wealth and Fortune: Those who worship him often find wealth and financial prosperity, as he is favored by Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth).

Distinguishing Features:

Appearance: He has the head of an elephant (symbolizing intelligence and wisdom) and the body of a human.

Common Symbols: He is usually depicted with four arms, holding auspicious objects such as an axe (to cut through obstacles), a lotus flower (purity), modak (sweetness/happiness), and a broken tusk (sacrifice). His vehicle is a mouse.

Worship and Practices

Offerings: It is customary to offer fruits (bananas, sugarcane, coconuts), flowers (marigolds, lotus flowers), sweets (especially modak or ladoo), and clean water.

Important: As he is a high-ranking deity, he should be placed in a suitable, clean, and elevated location, higher than other amulets or talismans.

Tip: Worship of Lord Ganesha usually begins with the mantra "Om Sri Ganesaya Namaha," and it is believed that whispering a request into the ear of the mouse (his attendant) will help convey the request to him more quickly.
