พระราหู (Phra Rahu)
Phra Rahu
The deity of transformation and a planetary influence on destiny.
Main beliefs/spiritual benefits: Enhances fortune, resolves bad luck (year of conflict), wards off negativity and turns it into positivity (reversing bad fortune), promotes luck, wealth, and success in gambling or business ventures requiring timing.
Distinguishing features: Often depicted as a half-bodied giant swallowing the sun or moon. Usually made from black materials (coconut shell) or black-plated metal.
Traditions/Worship:
Worship: It is customary to offer "eight black items" (e.g., black chicken, black liquor, black coffee, black beans, black sesame seeds, black sticky rice, black rice pudding, black grass jelly) on Wednesday nights or during lunar/solar eclipses.
Prohibitions: If worshipping for business or trade purposes, maintain honesty in business dealings and avoid illegal activities or fraud. Because the influence of Rahu will have a strong effect on those who behave inappropriately.
